- Operating season
Berat city tour can be operational for all the year because Berat has a warm climate even during the winter, but the most appropriate time is from April to October. From 1 may to 30 September the museums work from 9:00 – 13:00 and 16:00 – 19:00, so it is a long term to use by the client. From 1 October to 30 April the museums time is from 9:00 – 16:00.
- Possible starting time
Normally it is better during the first half of the day if the visitors have to leave Berat for other destinations, but if they come in Berat at noon and have time to do the tour during the afternoon it is OK because of the fresh weather. In any case we recommend to stay one night in the most authentic hotel in Berat (before or after tour) to get the full impression of the city, its traditions and hospitality.
- Duration of tour
This sometimes has to do with the clients interest, but a normal tour takes a duration of 3 – 4 hours, including all the quarters of historic center.
- Route and difficulty
Most of the streets are cobbled so the clients has to take sneakers shoes. Also we offer drive services for small groups (4 people) or if they are more – we order a taxi, but sometimes for younger and more active people it is OK to climb the castle on foot.
- Places which will be visited and entrance price
The visit normally starts from the main entrance of the castle (100 Lek per person) to the upper city and than continues with the visit of the Onufri museum (200 Lek per person). Next we will visit the lower city and Mangalem quarter with Gorica bridge and Etnografic museum (200 Lek per person), during the summer season it is difficult to make both museums in the same tour because of the museum timetable, at 13:00 they are already closed.

Inside there we are going to visit in their interior and exterior, some byzantine and post byzantine churches like St. Todri, St. Mary Vllaherna, St. Nicola, St. Constantine and Helena.
All the churches in their interior still preserve wall paintings realized in fresco technique. At the end of the tour in the castle we are going to visit the St. Mary’s Annunciation Cathedral where today is housed the Onufri museum with some of the Onufri and Nicola masterpieces of XVI century Albanian iconography.
Leaving the castle next visit will be in the lower town when first we stop in the Mangalem quarter where we will climb the path to St. Michael church, after this on foot we will visit the Gorica Bridge and Gorica quarter.
Next, by walking we will reach the Medieval Center including the Helveti Teke (inside visit), King Mosque and Dervish’s Konak.
The program will be finalized with a visit in the Ethnographic museum of the city.
